Community Tasting Notes 18

October 30, 2020 - Cork was perfect. Color for this 19 year old bottle was medium dark garnet. Nose has a slight earthy note, creosote, showing mildly sour cherry.
Sweet and sour cherry on the palate, still showing lively acidity, tannins mostly resolved at this age. Really nice bottle. Bought this at its auction prime and had it for years. Even though it’s $100 bucks cheaper now at auction, I’m not disappointed.

February 21, 2018 - Color is dark garnet, there is some haze and it is opaque. The smells are cherry, cassis, dark chocolate, sweet spices, cinnamon, soy, and blueberry. Tastes are earth and dark fruit, wet stone, sweet spices, cherry, tobacco, and hints of dill and olive. The tannins are ripe and velvety and the finish is lengthy. This wine is delicious right now.

September 26, 2016 - Made in a very modern style and certainly will not age as many Muga wines have. Ripeness comes through on the nose but initially complemented by light spice, although this softens with time. Moderate tannins on the palate. Ripe, sweet fruit on the palate dominates. One-dimensional.
