May 1, 2011 - Nice enjoyable wine from one of my favorite regions.
March 9, 2011 - Bright ruby color. Nondescript nose. Tastes of black cherry and currant. Earthy mid palate and finish with some good acidity.
January 27, 2011 - Opened for a few hours- not decanted. A full and dense garnet gaining clarity at its edges. Barnyard-y notes on the bouquet with red fruit and maybe even a little apple and curry spice. Much darker profile on the palate with anise and black cherry, along with a gamey and savory undercurrent of flavor. Silky in feel, with a lush structure that finishes with dusty tannins and sweet red and dark berry fruit notes- medium in length. Ripe and rustic.
December 25, 2010 - This bottle was very different from the previous one I had. Seemed thinner with less fruit. Could be bottle variation?
November 25, 2010 - I like this Tempranillo blend from the Duero Valley in Castilla y Leon. Soft purple color, wonderful tartness on the palate and finish. Prefer a bit more structure and texture, but at $12 a bottle, no complaints.
November 4, 2010 - Ripe, pruney black fruit, chocolate, vanilla. Medium bodied palate that is a bit hot and bordering on overripe. Dusty tannins and a medium-plus finish.
October 27, 2010 - Buy again
October 16, 2010 - This wine has a dark brick red color, medium body and lower alcohol of 13.0%. After decanting, it gives off aromas of currants, earth, chocolate, blackberries and a bit of a smokiness. It tastes of currants, chocolate, tobacco and blackberries. It is drinking good now, but should be a good wine 2 to maybe 5 years from now as well. What is nice about this one is, it is good on its own, and it is also a nice food pairing wine as well.
July 31, 2010 - Drank with Mourins @ Minnehaha Falls
July 25, 2010 - Decent, bit heavier than a Rioja. Ok value on sale, but probably wouldn't pay full price
