November 21, 2011 - Still dense with some tight tannins at first, but held up well against rich pasta dish. Hard to describe as it both constrained yet bold - cassis and leather, a bit of violets, acidic bright tones. A hybrid new/old world wine but lacking layers I thought would be there.

June 7, 2011 - Decidedly old world when opened, oils and leathers on the nose, with fruit coming across the backside. Brooding raspberry with some cassis liqueur. What's most interesting is the complex finish, spice and woody hints weaving in and out as it finishes. Not long, but dense and rich. Wish we had more, just entering the prime of its drinking window, I think, and could easily go another year or two.

May 13, 2011 - Pop & Pour... Not a normal choice, but loved it in the tasting room (who really knows after 4-5 stops?!?!). But, it is interesting - and holds up well to spicy food. This is my last bottle, and I'm a little disappointed...

February 28, 2011 - paired well with spicy italian seafood pasta. smooth finish - not overly acidic.

February 10, 2011 - 14.4% ABV. Brief note from tasting over a couple days. Translucent dark garnet in the glass. Dried cherry and balsa wood nose along with something herbal. Medium full bodied with tangy dry cherry. A little woody. Almost a little too Italian, if you get me...
