December 3, 2016 - Dark chocolate and raspberry jam. Tasty cocktail wine, though not what I'd expect from Ridge, and certainly not one with 13 years of age.

December 22, 2015 - Opened for spaghetti. Solid red to orange on the rim. A little thinned out, certainly not the fruit bomb any more....but, Wow, superb nose of cherry Coke. Vanilla and cherry, with secondaries. Impressive fruit and length. No signs of being over the hill. One of the most impressive zins I have had in a while. Just rounding into form.

September 15, 2013 - A bit of heat at the end, certainly from de 15%+ alcohol, but otherwise a delicious, mature zin, great barbecue companion.

March 28, 2013 - Reminded me of an Old Vine Zin with that back end "sweetness" and at 15%+ alcohol it felt hot and a little Jammy upfront. Still, compared to the 03 Ridge Ponzo I opened a few nights back, much bramblier, and in some ways even younger (could that be possible?). The Ponzo improved considerably over the ensuing week, I can only wonder what this might become..... See below

February 3, 2012 - A faint, somewhat alcoholic blackberry jam nose. Sweet blackberry jam flavors with a big hit of warm spice and a touch of garrigue. Very velvety mature tannins add lots of texture. A lovely mature Zin, probably at its peak.
