  September 6, 2009 - A very fine nose with dark berries and tar that was quite reminiscent of their other more costly wines. The initial taste was bright and fruity with green flavorings but that delicious balance thinned out very quickly. After 30 minutes of opening, this thin veneer opened up a bit to make the wine a bit more full. However, a fair blending of Demetria's grapes that is an easy "weekday" wine.

  July 23, 2009 - Starts with pork and blueberry on the nose. But the flavors are a bit lacking and the finish is hot and disjointed. Drying oak flavor dominates the palate, while vanilla and oak spice gain prominence on nose. Too young? Maybe. But the stuffing seems insufficient to withstand the barrel aging. I guess this producer threw everything into new barrels, then declassified most of them before blending their prestige wine. Maybe next time they could identify their better vineyard blocks first?
