October 23, 2020 - Decanted for 1.5-2h. Brambly aromas with ripe blackberries, just ripe blueberries, a good dose of herbs and earth. Palate with brambles, blackberries, unripe blueberries, stems, earth and a bit of tar. The acids nicely balance the fruit and weight of the wine. Hearty but complex. Highly enjoyable. 92+

June 2, 2017 - Serious wine in the glass. Aromas of dried flowers, dark fruit, salty ocean and animal soaring from the glass. Black cherry fruit, stones, tobacco and leather notes on the palate. Dry, marked tannins, still not fully resolved. A wine of great complexity, challenges the mind. This will evolve further and has the potential to become grand vin. Always a pleasure to open a Pradeaux.

May 8, 2017 - This bottle was not at its peak, could have been slightly flawed. Too much oak and no fruit.

July 2, 2016 - Fantastic nose with humidor, sandalwood, honeysuckle and lavender. The fruit is a little thin to start with, but improves a few hours of air. Plum, red meat and thyme. Ready to drink, but needs a long decant

February 21, 2016 - Like the last one, a very successful example of Pradeaux, which is in its prime. Quite full-bodied, with good garrigue strawberry fruit, herbs and a touch of spice, well-balanced and with a long, lingering finish. Probably good value at auction, especially compared to Bordeaux of a similar age, it has the body and grip to improve further and certainly last another decade.

Rockss and Fruit

(Chateau Pradeaux Bandol) This was showing great. Beautiful nose of leather, dried roses, minerals & black fruits. Very animal and barnyard too. Palate had great black fruits and a nice stony minerality. Tannins were big but very well rounded and surpirsingly accessible. Long finish. Chewy wine but had fantastic earthiness and minerality. I am surpised it was this open as the Longue Garde is a rock now.
