April 18, 2019 - This review needs be taken in perspective as I had a head cold developing all day; none of the other reds this night really appealled to me (Ridge Geyserville, Ridge Lytton Springs, Argiano).
This being the only Bordeaux of the evening, and my favorite wine style, jumped out at me. First, I appreciated that the 2000 was still at a lovely place within it's drinking window: well beyond what was suggested in 2003. Always nice to know it was properly stored. The nose had all my expectations of earthiness, leather, wood/vegal elements. The palate showed same with fruit holding up very well, balanced nicely with the acid and tannins. One btl left to try next fall probably. I did not decant this wine due to its' age, but rather just uncorked it about 3 hours before pouring.

April 13, 2019 - Pizza Experiment Night (Rocknroller's (Kevin & Vicki's Place)): Very dark red/purple color. Slow O for 3 hours plus; drank a glass over an hour. Never had this producer before, but was impressed. No confusing this for anything but Bordeaux. Great earth nose, funk, leather, graphite, dark fruits, licorice. The palate is full bodied, cassis, dark berries, tons of wood spice, earth, tobacco finish, good acid. Excellent. This can go another 5 years at the very least. In great shape.

April 11, 2019 - Yes, chunky; yes classic tannins; yes, powerful in the midtaste.
3 x yes makes 91 points. It is, for me, 100% Bordeaux, showing its qualities with a good meal. I still have some bottles, but I do not think this wine will really soften within some years. Enjoy this wine with its good heart and rough character.

April 6, 2019 - Previous notes hold. This has been fabulous for its entire life. Hard to say where peak is, but it remains one of my favorite 2000's in early window.
