March 2, 2024 - Some nice Burgundies (Chicago, IL): Wax top. Impressive. Very intense for Dauvissat, and almost veering slightly towards Raveneau territory with more texture than usual. Lemon and saline notes, with maturing yellow fruit on the palate. I like the balance of acidity and texture here.

January 19, 2024 - After opening apple, switching to citrus, iodine, oyster shells and white pepper. Mouth coating, straight and with an enormous length. Top notch Chablis.

January 6, 2024 - The taste of honey must be one of the highest aroma of Burgundy White.
Stable through 4H lunch and a little unbalanced in first minute, then the taste and body in harmony.
And don’t suggest for parallel taste once you open a fine bottle.

    October 20, 2023 - Tasted over 2 hrs
    -translucent med gold
    -apple caramel
-med+ acidity provides a gentle yet intense lift on the finish, med weight almost painful steely mineral backbone upon which ripe baked apple caramel is dripped on top, long finish
-mild oxidation appropriate for its age, fully mature, has typical Dauvissat cut power and apple-ness in maturity married to the lifting acidity of the vintage; as noted by others this behaved like many other Dauvissat I've tasted with some age - it is more oxidative upon opening but then somewhat fades over a few hours

September 25, 2023 - A delicious Les Clos which seems to be in its sweet spot. Creamy, with hints of lemon, butter, honey, apple, lovely concentration with a nice sharpness too. Long and balanced. Lovely minerality, superb tension, real effortless depth there. A vibrant and profound Chablis, that will hold well for a long time to come.

June 14, 2023 - I tasted this bottle during a Chablis night at Sushi Shinkai in Seoul, together with Christian Moreau's Les Clos, William Fevre's les Clos, and the Francois Raveneau's Clos, the final boss. Dauvissat was supposed to stand out better than Christian Moreau's and William Fevre's. However, it showed just a mediocre performance compared to others, perhaps like a sleeping one.

June 3, 2023 - Grrr. Another bottle this is advanced - not gone but not right. Actually improved with a bit of air - drinkable but certainly not the showstopper that pristine bottles provide. This bottling is a crap shoot in 2008.

May 6, 2023 - Had the pleasure of sharing this with local buddy Kevin ( rocknroller) at perhaps the best concert of my life. Graham Nash in the 350 person Dakota Jazz Club locally. Huge thanks to Graham for choosing an intimate setting for his 4 nights in Minneapolis this week. BTW, he offered an emotionally scorching version of Neil Youngs "Country Girl (I think you're Pretty)." Who says acoustic music can't rock! What a night. Anyway, this btl is near perfection and Chablis Nirvana. Stored in my temp controlled cabinet since release. Fully in its drinking window. Not saying it can't gain something with addl years in the cellar but I'm delighted to catch my last btl drinking superbly. Still extremely fresh but also placidly intense & deep with all the classic Chablis terroir expression we dearly crave. My last and best of 3 great btls. Opened 3hrs before taking to venue and finding it ready to go after 30 minutes simply put the cork back in till 30 minutes b4 drinking at dinner & through the concert. 97+

May 6, 2023 - From 75cl, perfect cork, opened but not decanted 1 hour. Dark morning urine-yellow. Mild premox old-socks-in-vinegar scent. But even I don't just chuck away a 300 EUR bottle without getting maximum masochistic value from it. Intense lemon juice acidity dominates the palate; the stale vinegary brew grants instant heartburn. NR

May 4, 2023 - Last had this 4 years ago. This was head turning, classic Dauvissat. One of those wines that steers the ship and creates memories. This opens on the nose with all the minerality in its glory; stones, oyster shells and a fennel topnote I often find in Dauvissat followed by a classic lemon-lime infusion with white flowers, fresh herbs and a wax note. The palate is penetrating, driven, citrus, limestone, ocean, waxy, lime sweet tarts, citrus zest, shellac, incredibly long and focused. This is just a joy to slowly savor. Thanks to Craig for sharing this on an incredibly memorable evening while watching Graham Nash in a small venue regaling us with hauntingly sheer perfection in every song.
