September 5, 2020 - Surprisingly dark, and less sweet than I expected. Honeyed notes, lychee and a fair amount of acidity. Good with fresh pineapple and not bad overall.

December 4, 2019 - Some may criticize this as being too much like a desert wine. So what?!! This is a full-bodied, elegantly mature Alsatian. though it is a bit shy on traditional Gewurz character it more than makes up for it with its deeply honeyed and almost botrytis- lychee flavors with some interesting spices. Really intriguing smoke and white pepper on the mature, dense, long slightly sweet finish. Delicious! Probably plateaued and good for a few more well-stored years. 92+

July 5, 2017 - Nice color- fairly deep. Stone fruit, maybe petrol, then there's the wonderful spice. Lovely tropical and stone fruit on the palate. Fruity-sweet on the palate. Lengthy finish.

November 17, 2015 - Followed for three days open. Deep golden color, clear and sound with quick legs. Very aromatic bouquet extends out 2 feet from the glass. Layers of raw honey, quince, apricot, flint, and the longer it's open, the more of a nuttiness develops in the bouquet. The palate is medium weight, having a lot of substance yet still light on its feet. Achieves what many Gewurz's cannot as far as disguising its alcoholic heat. This is smooth and gentle on the throat yet there's no denying the wine packs the textbook punch of the variety. Very long finish and I think it is in a great window now. I might let my last one sleep another year or two to see what develops. 5+13+17+8 = 93

March 11, 2014 - PICCOLI SOMMEILLER CRESCONO; 2/26/2014-6/20/2014 (B&B CASA DI CLARA): Sempre un grande piacere bere Zind Humbrecht! Giallo dorato infuocato. Naso pieno, sferico, tanta camomilla, calore e zuccheri.

November 5, 2012 - Some may object to an Alsatian wine this sweet, but I loved it. The sweetness plus the spice of great gewurztraminer grapes with just a hint of something like botrytis makes this an exceptional wine.

August 6, 2012 - Deep yellow color. Aromas of lychee, gooseberry, mineral oil, honey and spice. Lovely texture, with spice, mineral, lychee and ripened melon flavors. Long finish. In a really great place right now. 92+ pts.

July 28, 2012 - OC4PokerXIV: Alsace vs Germany (and dinner) (Wine Cellar Club, Irvine, CA): fingers's note is spot on. Slow-O 1 hr, served non-blind at CT offline. Very impressive showing for an entry level Gewurz, in fact, this was my #2 wine of the tasting (out of ~ 30), as much for its purity as its zeal and balance. A lot of depth here, and the structure suggests this will likely get even better over the next few years. I haven't been wowed like this by an entry-level Gewurz in quite some time. Z-H, still using a horse and plow, gotta love it! very highly recommended

February 26, 2012 - Great wine here especially for the money. Clean and precise in its definition with nice spiciness and tropical fruit flavors. It fills the mouth with Gewurztraminer pleasure.
