March 19, 2010 - Deep purple/garnet in color. Muted nose but some pencil and currant. Initial taste is thin, but builds to a fairly hot mid-palate with graphite, dirt, red fruit. Long finish is almost bitter - full of tannins on first opening. This did fade some with time in glass, but the long finish also was lost. Seems overwhelmed by the dirt/graphite/etc. type flavors with very muted fruit. Wonder if wine is a bit closed right now. Obviously well made, but not the best balance throughout.

July 27, 2009 - Was good. Not great. Solid wine and maybe worth the $30. Missing body above all. Seemed almost like a pinot in its finish.
