January 24, 2022 - Typical Bordeaux, a classic at the top, if you like that special taste of mature Bordeaux. Notes of chocolate, berries and faint spices. Too bad I only have one bottle left.

April 24, 2021 - A evening of 20+ year old Bordeaux (Wilmette Harbor Club, Wilmette IL): This is a nice and balanced nose with tones of dark red cherries, cranberries, cedar notes, tobacco leaf, licorice, spice notes, bell peppers, and some herbs. There is good depth to the nose, but the tones are a bit straight-forward. The Medium bodied feel is balanced and with some rough edges while showing medium acidity and chunky, medium tannins. This is a balanced and mature Haut-Medoc. There is still some structure to it, but I don't really see it getting all that much better.

August 7, 2015 - Classic Listrac; wiry currant with cedar and pencil; lithe and lean. Not for the modern palate, but just fine for mine! Will do for any Wednesday night.

July 20, 2007 - UK Wine Pages 1995/1996 Cru Bourgeois Offline (Canteen Restaurant, Spitalfields, London): Slightly more concentrated and ripe than the 95, but still a bit tannic, short and bitter on the finish.

July 20, 2007 - 1995/1996 Cru Bourgeois offline (Canteen, London): For one the 1996 is the lesser of the two. Similar colour to the 1995. Dilute mid-palate, and a funny 'tangy' finish.

September 3, 2003 - Liverpool Offline (Everyman Theatre, Liverpool): Rather bizarre nose. Initially a hint of banana and polish. Bit mushroomy and farmyardy. Very concentrated plummy fruit, and also rather minerally. Fair attack. Lots of tannin. Decent fruit which grows on me. Finish dominated by tannins. OK. Better after being open a while, but still rather rustic.

November 11, 2001 - Correct. Aurait probablement été meilleur si ouvert et décanté 1 à 2 heures avant le repas.
