September 19, 2008 - {cork, 11.5%} Looking very old., and smelling very ‘old wine’ as well. All (good) moulds and earth, however. The palate is mirror smooth; tannins are fully resolved (ie absent), and the acid remains under control for the time being. Although cabernet sauvignon was the dominant grape in the blend, it tasted to me more like a franc-dominated affair, with a certain spiciness to the flavours that didn’t seem very sauvignon-ish. More a minimally-sulphured wine, this has hung on pretty well. Needless to say, drink up!
