September 10, 2022 - I read other notes before opening and decided to decant, which turned out to be a great call. Despite being served at cellar temperature, there was still some heat off the nose for a good hour. Color is still bright red with no bricking, a bit surprising. The nose evolved a lot over the course of the evening. At first, it was all primary, red fruits, blueberry, licorice. After a couple of hours though, the tannins softened a bit and secondary aromas of truffle and tobacco nicely blended with the still-present ripe fruit. Really nice complexity here. Drinking well now but still has some life judging by evolution I saw. Definitely decant.

March 23, 2022 - Dark ruby color - this was a lovely bottle of this Barolo. Classic Barolo aromas and flavors but in a rather tight presentation. Reco a longer decant or waiting a bit longer on this one.

October 10, 2020 - Consumed over 2 days (vacuvined), note from day 2. Nose: Medium-plus intensity, black cherry, tar, roses, Asian spice, and forest floor - wonderful. Palate: Medium bodied, sour cherry and spice attack, earth and leather notes appear mid-palate, big tannins still present in this 15 year old Barolo, finishes long dominated by sour cherry, spice and earth. Drinking nicely now but will likely improve over the next 3-5 years and drink well for another 10-15 years (or more).

April 2, 2020 - Some volatile acidity on nose with PnP. I liked this better with 12 hour decant, for some crisp sour cherry on palate, drying tannins, minerals. After 24 hours in decanter, even better. I'll wait 5+ years before opening another bottle. Should age very well for another 5-10 years.

March 28, 2020 - smoothest lightest Barolo we've had in some time. First taste was super light, very acidic with a hint of raspberries. After an hour it gained weight. More robust. Raspberries, a hint of dark cherries and strawberries. Getting the slightest hint of tar finally. Minerality is definitely there in the background. A hint of prunes and plums. No mahogany nor cedar at all though. Not the most quintessential Barolo. In 2015 we had this wine and I reviewed it which you can see here. In that review I said I was a bit disappointed but that I predicted that in 2020 it will be great. One of the few times I have been right!! it will be great for at least another 5 years.
