December 24, 2017 - June 10, 2015 disgorgement. Deep and lemony; good texture and very clean.

January 2, 2017 - Magnum. Fifteen months on from purchase. Pale straw. Very fresh nose dominated by lemon. Lemon sherbet attack. Light and frothy. A light aperitif style. A little underwhelming and pretty simple if easy to drink. **1\2

May 10, 2015 - Søte epler på duft.
Rund, medium fylde, frisk, enkel, men en god Champagne.
    Helt grei lengde.

December 7, 2014 - Colicchio & Sons: very enjoyable split. Fine balance of yeast and fruit. Great complement to a variety of courses.

October 23, 2014 - Opens with deep autolysis to reveal crisp lemon on an otherwise plush palate. Very impressive, especially considering the price. From Magnum, 08 or 09 base vintage.

Terry Theise Estate Selections

(NV A. Margaine "Cuvée Traditionelle” Brut) ($50.00) We tasted two. The first was the ’07-based NV we’ve been shipping, from a 7/10 disgorgement. Still stylish, original and delicious, and has really consolidated the white tea and jasmine and peony. Then we saw the successor. 52% ’08 and 48% reserve wine consisting of ‘07’-05-’04-’00. 88%CH/12%PN. Disgorged 1/11, but already this is as pretty as wine can smell. ’08, it begins to seem, kicks ass. Wisteria and lily of the valley and apple-blossom; oh so sweet and silky, it waves slowly in a languid wash of fruit over the palate and yields to a spicy candied-ginger finish with low notes of meyer-lemon. Very much back in form after a couple years when I feared this wine was getting too scratchy.
