July 3, 2023 - Still drinking at peak in spite of Cellar tracker recommendation. Tastes like Napa with an Italian twist. Oak front and center along with copious fruit. Nothing not to like , but nothing special. You will never be disappointed when opening this bottle, but you will never be enthralled.

December 26, 2016 - Boxing Day dinner at Chandra's. From magnum. Pop and poured. Drank over 1 hour.
Appearance is clear, deep intensity, ruby colour. legs.
Nose is clean, medium intensity, with aromas of dark red cherries, black cherries, cassis, licorice, sweet spice, oak. Developing.
On the palate, dry, medium acidity, high alcohol, gum-drying big high tannins, full body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of dark red cherries, black cherries, cassis, licorice, sweet spices. Long finish.
Good quality. Very ambitious wine-making going on here. Well, one could say over-extracted. Big 06 tannins on display. Still rather primary in magnum format at this point in time.
2nd label of Rocca di Frassinello. 50% Sangiovese, 25% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon. Aged 12 months in 50% new barriques.

September 24, 2013 - Initially closed but after an hour in the decanter this became quite enjoyable. Good acidity and nice dark fruit.
