November 30, 2023 - Raveneau just killed this vintage and this was a perfect bottle of the Blanchot. Oily and coiled at first, it blossomed after decanting into a simply fabulous wine with an unbelievably silky-fine and creamy texture and a complexity on the finish that is monumental. Chalky minerals and oyster shells combine with lemon/lime fruit to produce a balanced wine that is deeply satisfying. While youthful, it's in a perfect spot now with a one-hour decant. Perhaps the best white wine I've had in the last couple of years.

November 19, 2021 - Raveneau Grand Cru with Maxime Raveneau (110 Taillevent London): During Raveneau dinner with Maxime Raveneau sampling all three GCs 12/10/08/05 at 110 Taillevent London. No formal notes taken. Those 08s so much more open than the 12s before. Super tension, crisp and lifting mineral. In its early sweet spot and stylistically felt in a vein with 12 but just with added benefit of the years in bottle.

September 23, 2021 - Lemon curd aromatics, less tension and energy compared to Clos but good on its own.

August 7, 2021 - A brilliant vintage for Raveneau and the Blanchots is no exception. Great tension with a superb acidic cut perfectly matched by intense lemony fruit. Amazingly light on its feet for a wine with this much material and the finish is crisp and tingly with complex chalky mineral notes. Has that classic Raveneau lifted, lacy texture. Youthful but no issue drinking it now.

January 4, 2021 - Tasted it in 2 days. Light yellow gold. Typical raveneau petrol, lemon, white floral notes on nose. First day nose was only medium with some parmigiano favour. The palate was a bit bitter. Thought it was closed and left large portion of the bottle for the next day. It is much open on the 2nd day with more pronounced nose. The palate is more integrated with balance of acidity, bitterness and sweetness. Long finish. It shall improve further in 5-10 years. Still haven’t had a fully mature raveneau to date and can imagine it would be amazing.

June 27, 2020 - Not quite sure what to think of this. Initially it tasted almost exclusively of oak, and it took quite a while before it showed the subtle chablis melon-and-lemon twist. At that point it was very nice but did not strike me as more interesting than many a 1er cru from less expensive growers. Maybe it would have benefitted from more air, who knows. Kind of economically practical not to feel any need to go there again.
