Community Tasting Notes 4

April 18, 2011 - From half bottle. Pretty nose, light body with fine tannins. Upon opening the palate is a bit bubbly but then it calms down and surprisingly sweet cherry flavours become dominant. Not really our prefered style - we did not finish the bottle. A very solid wine nevertheless

April 16, 2011 - Had at Blue Ribbon in New York and bought a couple of Half Bottles (all I can find) from Le Du and these are just as good, though I'm sure the positive memory helps somehow. I understand that the Camille Giraud business has changed hands in the last decade with the Colgin folks. The wine is good pinot, maybe expensive for what it delivers overall, but solid and reliable Pinot with a little less fruit than most of what I've tasted from the West Coast. Good acidity makes this better with food than stand-alone; but good wine and will be adding more -- even of the half's.

    December 12, 2010 - better than last bottle...less ripeness....punches above its level

September 15, 2010 - pretty ripe but has decent depth for bourgogne
