Community Tasting Notes 4

September 2, 2013 - A little cellar funk at first, but blew off after 10-15 minutes. Ended up a lovely nose of black cherry and earthy tar, seemed to get richer by the minute. I had this after dinner, my dining companions enjoying it during the meal. Still plenty of bright acid, and soft, silty tannin. Finishes for ten minutes. This is what I love about Sangiovese. An elegant edge with a touch of rustic-ness. Glad I have a few more.

July 3, 2011 - Open nose. Ripe fruits, minerals. Medium bodied, good tannins, perfect acidity. Excellent with food.

September 21, 2010 - In the bigger stule of Rosso I would say. 1 year between barrique and tonno. . Apperently Donatella is all female staff.

In 1997 the property got divided between the uncle and the mom which is why this property "appers" so young. Because they divided things up.

Notes from Violante Gardini. There is something about the symbolic nature of the doves that I just missed.

Smells of Brunello (or maybe rosso), and while having high tannins the fruit on the palate is just a touch richer than I assoicate with say, Costanti or Poggio Antico.

And this is apperently all Sangiovese.

April 1, 2010 - Good with lamb. But acid and without body.
