January 31, 2013 - I usually think of Caymus as being a "steak wine." This seemed a little more austere. It might be the age. Definitely needs to be consumed soon. Was a good wine, but I would not hold it much longer.

September 2, 2012 - Similar flavor profile as our 2/26/12 notes; though seems to be a bit blander. Glad we didn’t wait to drink this bottle next year. Our recommendation is to drink up now!

April 19, 2012 - Earthy fruit. Almost seemed a touch corked, but then usually it is either corked or not.

February 26, 2012 - This wine is drinking nice right now with a little age on it; well balanced with finesse. Subdued fruit with earth tones and a bit of leather. The cinnamon spice was present but not overpowering. It will be interesting to see how our last bottle drinks next year.

September 14, 2011 - Solid performer. Not quite as nice as the 07 but excellent nonetheless.

November 5, 2010 - My system (nose mouth finish) /+/, on second go round ++/, Drinking pretty well right now still could use some additional time to fully come around.

June 21, 2010 - Slowly opens with ripe cherry, borderline syrupy, sweet notes. Full oak with a clipped mid palate, needs better harmony and balance but I think it can come together. Simple straight forward pinot that can gain balance with time.

November 7, 2009 - TWC 2008 Dain Release Party (Tulsa, OK): Spice, cinnamon, clove, and berries. Lots of cola berries as to be expected from a RRV Pinot. Super fruit and potential. Needs about a year.
