January 10, 2015 - I agree with some of emtame's note. The nose is shy upon opening but it does open up some with air. There is also a slight herbal note - not quite bell pepper to me, though that is what Ann thought. More mint or fennel to me, but it is faint. The fruit is soft and dark and reminiscent of blackberries and the acid is pretty good. A solid wine but not very complex at this point. Hard to say where this will go with more age. Ann really enjoyed it. I may pick a few up if it is offered during berserker day this year.

March 30, 2014 - Deep velvety red with minimal lightening at the rim. The nose is a little shy. It shows some pretty floral tones with air, but remains a bit subdued. On the palate, the tannins feel round and supple and there's a nice squirt of acidity to provide some lift to the juicy red and black fruit. A savory element comes in on the finish - not quite herbal, but in that ballpark. A really nice wine that might deserve another point or two if the nose emerges more fully with additional cellaring.

August 29, 2013 - Nose of black berries and persimmon. Palate shows some decent balance with the fruit front and forward. A prettiness and fragrance I am liking . Notes of cola, cardamom and worn leather bring interest. Tannins seem nicely resolved; Acidity rides a wee 'up there'. Finish keeps it in play for minutes. This is a well made wine, well picked on this night of the International Cabernet Sauvignon Day

August 4, 2011 - Pretty good. Nice nose and good rich flavor (fairly typical of the better '07 Napa cabs). A little thin on the mid-palate but a pretty good finish.

June 16, 2011 - Decanted for 3 hours - wonderful nose of vanilla, cherry cola and creme de cassis. Deep red in color - with some crimson along the edges. Really exploded in the glass throughout the evening. This is a wonderful - I'm glad I have another one to drink. I can't wait to try the other Jean Edwards Cellars cabs.
