March 28, 2020 - This bottle seemed to be showing its age more than the previous ones. Some more caramel notes. Need another bottle soon to confirm.

July 11, 2016 - Another 92 for a Pleiade. Think I am becoming predictable. However this is different from other vintages. Dark colour, with intense fruit. Dark fruits, prunes and spice. The fruit is not sweet in any way, but the power is there. The tannins remain grippy, and contribute to a drying finish. This is good now, but if the tannins resolve more then this could be great. For some the lack of sweetness will be a challenge. Got a good few years in front of it.

July 10, 2016 - Post Lake's Dinner; 7/9/2016-7/10/2016 (Muse): From magnum. Chocolate, earth, redcurrant and tar aromas. The fruit and the acid are both quite high on the palate, though I get a little bit of alcohol heat on the finish that detracts a little bit. Still enjoyable.

September 10, 2014 - 2 years since our last encounter with this wine. Has definitely evolved into more of an old world syrah than an Aussie. Still has the ripe fruit core, dark fruits and is still on the young side. Should have waited more. 89

September 17, 2012 - Decanted and served. Quite a bit of sediment so useful to decant. Dark in colour, glossy. On the nose it's a nice balance of spice and fruit and its nice to see its not overdone. On the palate it is well round and smooth but with power and a new world sweet core. Dark fruit, spice, medium oak but again not over extracted or overdone. Has a good balance to it but it is a bit light on complexity and on the easy side. A touch too expensive for what it is to be honest. 89-90 and we will wait a few years before opening another bottle but can be enjoyed at the moment.
