February 24, 2021 - Decanted for 1.5h. Very tight on day 1, yielding little in aromas with lots of acid, some bitter tannins, and a hint o fruit. Put the 3/4 bottle left into 375 ml and 187 ml bottles. Now d3. Seamless aromas of green stems, tart red cherries, herbs and earth. Palate w green stems, tart cranberries, herbs, loamy earth. Very savory. Excellent acids w medium tannins on midpalate. Nice moderate finish. More open 5 yrs ago at age 10. Seems to have shut down again. Nice w food that balances out the acid and savory notes.

September 25, 2016 - Stood up for several weeks and then decanted. Really nice aromas of cherry fruit mixed with soy, earth, bark and some sous bois. Palate follows although a behind in concentration compared to aromas. Beginning to evolve into secondary characteristics. Will hold off on opening last bottle until 2019-2020.

Cote d'Or Likes this wine:
July 13, 2015 - PopnPour, tasted over 3 hrs
-med dark red minimal bricking
-perfumed warm earth cherry
-med acidity, initial sour element fades over an hour, middle weight but nicely concentrated fairly simple but serious earth black cherry without tertiary mature elements, med tannins on impressively long finish
-very pleasant with trademark '05 balance and darker fruit profile, solid quality and excellent value, no prior experience with this producer but it appears to be early on its maturity plateau, needs a bit of air to blossom -

January 19, 2014 - Drank along with the '05 Derain St. Aubin Le Ban and coq au vin. The two wines are nearly indistinguishable, but I would give a sl. edge to this one because the nose is more effusive. This is really a style I enjoy these days and the biodynamic wine seemed to harmonize well with fresh from the farm organic chicken and vegetables (although that part is psychological). Rustic, pure, and harmonious with great ripe cherry notes and a judicious use of wood (none of it new) and a great medium length finish. There is a delicacy here that makes this Burgundian and a silky texture that I easily could have mistaken for a PC level Chambolle. Definitely a domain to watch, although I have no idea where to get more of this.
