February 15, 2010 - made by dave phinney of oren swift and prisoner fame, this one is an easy, smooth drinker, which is a bit of a shock at 15.9% alcohol. good complexity with cherry, anise, chocolate and espresso. not a huge finish, but just long enough to savor it. if you're a fan of the prisoner, you will like this wine...although i'm not sure why the barrel chaser is more expensive - i think i'd be willing to pay more for the prisoner than i would the barrel chaser.
