  February 17, 2023 - This was opened to compare with the producer's Zeppwingert Spätlese of the same vintage, had at the end of January. Bright medium yellow. A nose of lemon-infused pastry, some quince and candied fruit. A spätlese of lovely filagree, with quince and lemon flavours, still sweet, but with such a silky texture. Just after the middle, a creamy flavour emerges. 24 hours later, with a glass-worth remaining in the refrigerated bottle: no change.
  
  Day 7, from a half-bottle: now a matted, duller medium-yellow. Candy fruit nose adds a little lemon and grapefruit zest plus a brief note of human sweat. Precise entry, but the palate broadens considerably at the middle, becoming luxuriant, like liquid velvet, with a white chocolate, pungent lemon and quince flavour, before building to a spine-tingling crescendo at the finish. This is better than the Zeppwingert. Perhaps the additional 0.5% alcohol here reveals a better ripening site. This is fine and has a good future in the cellar.

  September 13, 2018 - This is astonishingly good. Energetic, saliva-inducing wine, delivering thrilling fruit & acidity, in perfect harmony. Not really sweet at all - just as a Spätlese should be, but sometimes isn't. Fresh and delightful, and very more-ish. Knocks the spots off a bottle of Prüm Wehlener Sonnenuhr Spätlese of the same vintage opened yesterday, at least at this stage of their evolution. [03 09, 7.5%]

  April 17, 2018 - Riesling Swag 2018 (Vlet Hamburg): Very light yellow. The nose is still ultra-young with strong yeasty and sponti-stink notes, some slatey smokeyness, litchi and white currant fruit with also some peach skin. In the mouth, it's racy and not super sweet for a Spätlese, quite fresh acidity "eats up" the sweetness, it tickles the tongue and is very energetic and super harmonious. Awesome Spätlese.

  November 26, 2015 - Terrific acidity, the fruit just floated on the acidity, very faint petrol. Lively. Promising. Drank with an 07 Spatlese from Frohlich which had a bit more presence. The acidity here and the incredible lightness of the Mosel makes me think that this wine will have a brilliant future.
