January 5, 2018 - I waited way to long to drink this wine. Heavy on the rim with most of the fruit long gone. CT window was to 2013, I should have heeded that closer.
July 10, 2016 - Drying tannin with an almost astringent finish.
April 19, 2014 - Dark ruby red. Raspberry, a little smoke. Nice fruit, medium bodied. Very drinkable, not particularly complex.
March 30, 2014 - Simple, not overly complex. One dimension with nice grenache fruit.
February 8, 2014 - P n P at home w Mediterranean Food. Bright nose of red berries, spice.
A light to medium body red, good accompaniment to the fare. Red n blue berries on palate, soft fresh and easy drinking fruit forward drink. Tannins soft with acidity to match food. Heat not an issue.
September 30, 2013 - Good by cellar tracker scale (80-84) =good
On the thinner lighter side. Well integrated, soft dryness, light in texture and flavor. Tasted better younger. I probably kept this beyond its best drinking window.
April 8, 2013 - PnP (unfortunately) a little fruit, very acidic and, overall unbalanced. Finally, the fruit started to open up after 2 hours, but was at the end of the bottle.
January 2, 2012 - Slow-O 2 hrs. Dark ruby toward purple, no sign of age. I went into this with pretty low expectations given what I'd read here on CT and what I'd heard from others. The wine performed better than I'd imagined, but still, it was nothing memorable. There's a harshness, almost a thin raspberry and blackberry element, as if the wine can't ever get going, fully. Medium acidity, avg tannic backbone. Slightly astringent. Drink thru 2013, 15% abv, score: B-
December 13, 2011 - Very tannic right now and falls apart the next day. Is a disapointment after the stellar 2006.
October 14, 2011 - This wine was tasted in double-blind fashion at Vintage Wines, Ltd. The bottle was kindly provided by Don Shapiro. The robe is opaque ruby and the moderately-intense nose shows aromas of blueberries, blackberries and vanilla. Full-bodied on the palate, with low acidity, big sweet tannins and not-so-subtle alcohol (listed as 15.0%). The ripe flavors are black fruit-dominated and the middle palate is full. The medium-length finish ends with a whiff of heat. This ripe "fruit bomb" will appeal to many. Drink now-12/16.
