March 28, 2020 - woody at the beginning but it became gentle after breathing 45 mins,

Then it came with olive, red cherry, black currant, chocolate, smokey, spicy like pepper, mushroom, perfume, leather, complex with elegance acidity, full body, intergrated tanin, powerful strength, very long lasting(+10s).

It was interesting all the flavors aroused by tertiary aromas. I m not sure if it wat so called "old style Angelus?" Btw, this wine is lovely!!!

2 hrs double decant and finished the bottle in 7 hrs

December 22, 2019 - This is a powerhouse of a wine, living up to its Premier Grand Cru Classe A status, but probably not for everyone's taste as it is a throwback to classic old style Bordeaux. Hence, I assume some of the luke warm reviews. The nose is deep with black cherry and plum, with subtle background hints of strawberry and violet. It is displaying secondary characteristics and is complex and perfectly balanced, but with big steely tannin. The finish is exceptional with incredible depth and 60 seconds plus. The only negative at this stage is over harsh tannin at the end of the finish. This will continue to improve, but is fabulous now with a few hours in the decanter.

November 30, 2019 - A rather more fruit forward St Emilion with pinpoint balance and structure. It has a long road ahead of it but is very enjoyable now. Dark fruits, sour cherry and a little spice. In deep secondary but not tertiary.

92 pts

September 18, 2019 - Bordeaux night (Indianapolis, IN): Liked but didn't love this - lots of rich red and black fruit accented with cedar wood, fresh herbs, floral notes, and tobacco, but it feels a touch severe on the palate with the fruit feeling a bit extracted and a lot of tannin on the finish. I'd hope time brings more balance as the tannin eases, but right now it's more about promise than immediate enjoyment.
