September 17, 2016 - Still has a hint of cherry, blackberry and leather, even though it's a little past it's prime drinking time. Tasty and enjoyable.

July 11, 2015 - Quite disappointed with the excess oxidation in this bottle. Can't tell if the cork or the storage was the culprit. It was kind of drinkable, but I still let 1/2 the bottle go down the drain because the distraction was just too much. What a waste.

October 17, 2013 - Perfect cork and fill, in temp controlled storage since release. Pop and pour. Dark red core with lightening and a hint of bricking at the rim. Initially cherry/blackberry, leather and tar/burnt rubber giving way to leather, blood and iron with time in the glass. Medium body, cherry/berry blood and iron on the palate follow the nose, rustic flavors, good balance and acidity, tannins show on the moderately long finish. Drinking well now and should continue to drink well for another 5-10 years. Excellent to outstanding.

February 10, 2013 - Pristine cork and fill, in temp controlled storage since release. Pop and pour. Dark red core with lightening and a hint of bricking at the rim. Initially cherry/blackberry, leather and tar/burnt rubber, some funk that raised the question of Brett, but with warming from cellar temp and 45 minutes of air in the glass the rubber and barnyard are replaced with more leather, blood and iron. Medium body, cherry/berry blood and iron on the palate follow the nose, rustic flavors, good balance with decent acidity, tannins only show on the finish, which is moderate in length and tapers off on the fruit. Drinking well now and should continue to drink well for another 5-10 years. Excellent to outstanding.

November 15, 2012 - Given the price and heritage of this wine I was expecting something better. Lots of fruit, but not enough tannins for grip and finish. Too alcoholic.? Don't misunderstand me, I enjoyed this wine but I wouldn't go out of my way to buy it again.Altogether a little wooly .
