December 29, 2011 - Complex nose of soy, black pepper, garrigue, and cassis. The mouth shows VA on the tongue, but it's subsumed by the cassis and black cherry fruit. Finishes firmly tannic. A beautiful old Rhone which still has several years of life left in it.

October 6, 2010 - Complex and layered, with deep plum, kirsch liqueur, smoke, game, tomato skin, lavender, asian spices. Still some firm tannins remaining. An interesting and highly enjoyable wine, at times more reminiscent of right-bank Bordeaux than Southern Rhone.
