July 9, 2019 - Paprika, smoky, silkysoft, at peak I guess, nice ripe red fruit and acidity. Great!

June 19, 2019 - Dinner at Bancone. Straight from the bottle as the restaurant wouldn't decant - but no need for it really aside from sediment. Rich nose of cherries, black currant and cigar box. Right bank Bordeaux-style palette, cassis and redcurrant initially. Dark chocolate, cardamom and a green pepper secondary notes. Long, spicy finish. Wonderful depth and balance, really lovely.

May 7, 2019 - I'm glad to have followed my advice from 09/19/16 ("... more time ... ?). This still has dark berry and leather but no funk. With food, I'd rate this 92 but sipping on it alone, the alcohol is front center. So, drink with food. I recommend lasagna.

March 1, 2019 - Limited notes, decanted and drank over 2 hours. Balanced, decent concentration of dark red fruits. Medium finish, plenty of life left.

October 26, 2018 - A rather particular effort, this Cabernet blend with Merlot and Aglianico is mainly driven by acidity and now with about twelve years of age this is even more evident. The nose still reveals that rich red currant as well as cherries, and fresh spice like thyme, sage. Adding to this is a sublime minerality with a lot of crushed wet rock. The palate follow through nicely with all components in place and a very nice balance. Tannins are still pretty expressive and the acidity speaks up very loudly. On the other hand the wine drinks superbly to food. Certainly a stunning wine. Probably it will continue to develip for many years to come.
