July 24, 2021 - Very good. Had some life & grip left but after ~20 mins in a decanter was in a great spot. Dry green herbs, some eucalyptus, black cherries (both fresh & dried), touch of anise Medium body, nice mostly-integrated tannin, flavors that hang around

October 4, 2015 - Needs more time. Still as fresh as can be.

March 18, 2015 - Tight still, but really very, very good. Just starting to crack open at the 90 minute mark of a PnP, showing graphite, deep ripe blackberry/cassis fruit, savory green herbal interior, and judicious oak atop a well balanced wine from a deft creative hand. Last glass was blazingly good. This is showing even more structure than in 2013, and I'd leave this for another decade. Seriously. Wish this wasn't bottle #3 of 4, I should have waited. 92 pts, with another point or two of upside possible.

January 12, 2014 - Enjoyed this. A solid, old school cali cab. Big and tannic, with nice intensity of fruit. Nothing earth shattering here, but its an honest wine that can be consumed now with some tannin friendly food or cellared for future development.

November 9, 2013 - dark fruits that are well balanced. Small hint of acid but drinking very well. Can drink now or age a little longer

October 26, 2013 - A very nice medium bodied, balanced cab at an incredible price. Went very well with my steak. Wish I had bought more.

August 7, 2013 - Purple color but not inky. The nose is moderately intense with plums, cassis, and herbs that add complexity to the profile. On the palate, this medium-bodied wine provides balanced plum, cassis, herbs, and cedar undercurrents. The tannins are rounded while the acidity helps provide balance to the fruit. The finish is clean and has moderate length. Overall, this terrific wine is made without anything being overdone. The fruit is at the dark end of the spectrum but displays the honest winemaking typically found in Anthill Farms' wines.

March 27, 2013 - PnP, and over three nights. Excellent balance of ripe depth and focused acidic spine. Better on day two, with increasing cassis, blackberry and hints of graphite and charcoal. Very nice wine, still improving. No heat, no candied qualities, no greenness. This has another decade, and I still wish I had more. Wish the AHF folks would do another run with Cabernet.....

January 25, 2013 - The wine is a medium ruby red color. The outstanding nose has cassis, plums, licorice, dried herbs, spice box, minerals, tobacco, and dried wild flowers. This has a medium body, fairly solid tannins and very good acidity. This is not a big, overly ripe, heavily extracted style of cabernet, this is much more restrained and nuanced. Nice fruit and spice take center stage on the palate with minerals, spicy oak, and dried herbs coming in on the sides. The finish has good length and also showcases the fruit, spicy oak, and dried herbs. Very food friendly, this could easily be mistaken for a Bordeaux.

November 9, 2012 - Plenty of purple in this still. Beautiful graphite, currant/raspberry, green pepper (stems) nose. Medium bodied, great acid, wonderfully subtle tasty and judicious oak, swelling mid-palate, nice spicy finish, resolving but still structurally present tannins, a bit of heat. Good now and for another 10 years. This is a classy, elegant and beautifully balanced Cab. The antithesis of most of the syrupy, overextracted and candied new world Cabs I've tried. Wish I had another case. 91 pure quality, 93 personal preference.
