April 7, 2023 - Needed a few minutes in the decanter but a very nice bottle after that. Plenty of fruit left to my mild surprise, mostly in the red spectrum. Lighter and fresher than many of the cab-dominated wines tasted alongside. Not falling apart by any means. Kudos!

October 23, 2010 - Great value for the price. Agree with comments on leathery and rustic. Actually a quick whiff will give you some barnyard ambiance, but none the worst for the tasting. Drank in 2010 and still held up nicely.
February 3, 2008 - Very dark purple color. When I opened this I could only smell the alcohol and it tasted slightly sour and was very tight. I was nervous that it was not going to be any good. I decanted it for about 5 or 6 hours and when I came back it had completely evolved into a very complex dark, smoky, leathery, and delicious wine. Perfect with a steak. Long finish. Very subtle chocolate which I assume comes from the malbec. Fantastic QPR.
May 29, 2007 - A bit harsh, but nice tannin and decent flavor. At this price, I'd get it again.
May 16, 2006 - Wow- completely unexpected. Nice comibnation of the malbec and merlot. Kermit raves about the 2001 - I need to try it.
April 1, 2006 - Agree with most of the other notes here: Briary red fruits, quite tannic, nice acid structure, slightly rustic, but very enjoyable.
March 28, 2006 - Bright, intense ruby color. Nose of red berries, pepper and dark cherry. Medium bodied with medium acidity and bright cherry and blackberry fruit. Tropical hints on the finish. 50+5+11+16+6=88
March 9, 2006 - Great value, and really yummy. Bold and rustic with tons of smoky fruit. great now (had with lamb steaks) but could hold for a while.
