January 30, 2015 - Wow! This one surprised me for a $9 bottle. Kinda lost track of this last bottle and it's been sitting in the cellar for a few years. Despite the fact that this is not a wine designed for aging, it definitely picked up some interest in the years. Earthy, nutty notes, with dark fruit on the palate. Still lively and fruit forward. Great with food, especially acidic dishes like pasta with red sauce and Chicken French.
November 26, 2014 - Earthy Sangiovese. Good pasta wine with good friends and conversation.
October 25, 2014 - Still drinking nicely and remains a great QPR.
July 10, 2014 - No decant, faded blueberry and graphite in the bouquet, the palate is dominated by angularity and a long tannic finish, this is an example of a Sangiovese that has passed its peak in terms of its fruit and has passed into a much more earthy stage, interesting to try and enjoyable in its own way.
April 24, 2013 - Nice nose
April 15, 2013 - Nice table wine to go with italian dishes.
March 1, 2013 - Good fruit, clean, yummy
Perfect with tortellini
December 6, 2012 - Perfect little pizza wine. Some oak notes of coconut and dill but mainly earth, cherries, reduced brown sugar, dust, roses and plums. Simple sipper that was better with pizza.
November 10, 2012 - Still lots of character and a great drink with pizza.
October 20, 2012 - Decanted and tasted immediately. Lots of barnyard in the nose, along with some red fruit. Palate adds some cherry. Tannins are nicely balanced. Much better than the previous bottles - maybe the first one was corked?
