December 5, 2020 - Expiree
June 22, 2018 - Waited a bit too long on this one, thinking the grenache is not really a grape varietal built for long term cellaring.
December 12, 2015 - Very satisfying. Great QPR. Concentrated fruit forward flavors with a hint of white pepper and great finish. Great for the price !
April 26, 2015 - Drank it with a nice homemade mac and cheese. Paired well. Simple, bright fruit and nice acidity,
June 21, 2014 - Given some time, this opened up nicely. Lots of raspberry. Have not had a bad bottle of Tres Picos yet. Excellent for the $$.
March 12, 2014 - Soft aroma. Deep ruby color. High alcohol at 14.5%, but only shows when cold (my cellar is 53 Deg now - tried a sip). Drank at 61-65. Still a gem. Cellar Tracker 'drinkability' said Drink Now, so we picked it. Still fruit forward with raspberry. Light to medium body with a lingering aftertaste. Muy Bueno! Delicious. Had with breaded chicken cutlets and red-sauce pasta and salad with Balsamic vinaigrette, olive oil, and spices.
November 11, 2013 - Une autre excellente bouteille de ce vin dont la qualité n'est pas toujours régulière. Beaucoup d'épices et de fruits rouge. Longue finale. C'est vraiment bon ce jus.
October 28, 2013 - Twenty months after the first note what continues to strike me about this wine is a) great value b) great consistency year over year. Given the earlier note, this got lost a bit in the cellar but had not fallen apart as I feared. Still soft, open and easily approachable, relatively rustic, but broadly satisfying.
October 12, 2013 - Past it's prime
don't hold much longer
September 29, 2013 - Deep red color and a nose of strawberries. First sip had an alcohol finish. I let it open about an hour and the finish smoothed out. Nice bottle. Paired it with a creamy Reuben chowder.
