April 3, 2024 - Very nice fruit on the BdB side.
Little yeast autolysis character but nice foam and elegance.
Very solid if unspectacular.
January 24, 2024 - Die Forelle 2024: Ice skating at the Weissensee; 1/24/2024-1/27/2024 (Techendorf, Austria): Medium intensity with ripe lemon, tangerine, some honey, minerality, some brioche. Medium+ acidity, medium+ finish. 89-90
January 13, 2023 - Really enjoyed this sparkling wine from Austria. Lovely, complex, toasty - delicious with food or just to enjoy (with a champagne beurre blanc sauce).
December 21, 2022 - Nose was all yeast and pecan. Lots of lemon on the attack. Nice and dry, has a lovely, lively small bead.
May 21, 2022 - Made in traditional method. On the lees for three years. Own dosage own disgorgrment. 50 gv, 25 riesling, 25 pinot. Richly power, very expressive, thats really good. Wow.
January 11, 2022 - Nice, long crisp finish
August 20, 2021 - Disgorged 10/19, with a generous dosage of 9 g/L. Light lemon colour, with medium-fine, medium intense perlage. Intense citrus, lemon, grapefruit, biscuit, chalk, and smoke, with medium-fine mousse, lively acidity, and good length of the grapefruit-bitter finish. Good concentration. Lightly creamy texture. Very different from the (presumably) much more recently disgorged yet even smokier and more autolytic bottle I had on vacation about two weeks ago. In many ways, this reminds me of a village-level Riesling still wine and not of sparkling wine. 88+
August 4, 2021 - At POST Family Resort in Unken/Austria (€39 on the restaurant's wine list). I did not check the back label, but the wine seems to have been disgorged only recently. Stone fruit, citrus, almond, brioche, and smoke, with creamy, medium-fine mousse, good acidity, and good length. Pleasant light bitterness on the finish. Good autolysis character. Has everything a top sparkling wine needs, only lacks integration (and hence harmony) at this point. A year in the cellar might do the trick. Larissa liked it a lot. 89(+)(?)
March 26, 2021 - Toasty nice richness to the nose. Precise creamy richness.
March 20, 2021 - Moderately aromatic of green snap peas and yeasty autolysis. Hint of smoky minerality. Light bodied but with great intensity! Asian peat and a bit of quince. Persimmon. Loaded with acid, but perfectly balanced. This is also very saline. Some other, non-fruit flavors such as green snap pea. This is a fantastic bottle of bubbly. 91
