February 27, 2022 - I mean this wine was amazing. Easily could have been wine of night in our tasting. We popped and poured so needed to open. As it did the wine began to show character.

March 8, 2020 - Wish I had more. Still in its prime. Fresh tasting, great fruit, tannins well integrated. Bricky, threw a bunch of sediment.

December 22, 2019 - Deep dark center, dark red rim with signs of age.
Sweet, alcohol, plasticine, black cherries, plums and cherry brandy, rubbed provencal herbs.
Smooth, fruit liquor, rosemary and sage, rich and wears the alcohol well, lots of kirsch and raspberry liquor, black olives, vanillin, very well integrated oak, excellent length with some green overtones.
Excellent Spring Mountain wine, drinking at a peak now.

September 1, 2014 - Wow. Much bigger than expected. A lovely floral nose, Complex layers of dark fruit, chocolate, cola, cassis and a hint of spice. Looking for a desert alternative so we can enjoy this with cigars.

Some additional comments upon a weeks reflection...the Craig Howell Mtn. Cabernet has traditionally been my favorite of the Craig offering. I first tasted the highly limited Spring Mtn at the Craig Harvest Party in 2009 and while tasty, did not think it "punched above its weight" like the Howell. With age, boy was I wrong. I have tasted some spectacular offerings from the Spring Mtn. AVA but this was tops among them. Hope this is more than a one time thing and surely wish there was more available.
