  July 31, 2021 - This wine has held up beautifully in the 9 years since my last note. Some of that Franc pyrazine shows through as the wine becomes structurally softer. Almost a little Loire influence. Still beautifully colored, with minimal bricking. Fruits are vibrant and fresh on the nose and palate. Really wish they had kept making this wine!

  April 2, 2012 - Rushed this one -- should have been more patient / opened earlier in the evening. But just as delicious as the previous bottles. See previous note for detailed tasting -- impressions are pretty consistent.

  February 7, 2012 - When you look at the deep, dark crimson juice filling the glass on the pour, you don't really expect such a delicate nose, but it really is -- some light floral notes with just hints of earth and leather around the edges. On the palate, it's a complete celebration in the mouth -- it starts with some bright, sweet fruit to begin, then quickly oozes into a rich, dry midpalate, and a finish that doesn't quit. Was absolutely perfect with a couple of steaks off the grill. Yum.

  August 20, 2011 - With a nose as catchy as a Neil Finn chorus and a finish as lovely(and challenging) as an Elvis Costello line...this wine makes me pine to play Sonoma again.
