September 9, 2019 - It was fairly late (10:00 p.m.), but I had just returned from the airport, the end of a day that started at 5:00 a.m. in Mendocino, California. I was out there to cover Winesong, a yearly wine tasting/celebration/auction that benefits the Mendocino Coast Hospital Foundation. One of the events was a Pinot Noir tasting of mostly Mendocino County Pinots. Thus, as I turned on a football game, I was Jonesing some Pinot. I grabbed this. Sure, it is a dozen-plus years out now, and the fruit has faded a bit, but this is delicious: a bit brown in the glass, faded raspberry and notable earthiness. The palate is similar, but there are levels of complexity from the mid-palate through the finish. Lovely. thedrunkencyclist.com

September 27, 2018 - I opened this as a foil to the 2002 Roger Belland Volnay-Santenots (below), and this competed well. It also served as proof that high quality wine can age under screw-cap. The fruit has faded, but still present with solid weight and more than ample acidity. This screw-top wine is still off the charts, crazy good. Find a good producer in the Willamette, in a decent vintage, and buy a ton. Or more. Open, and drink quickly, as this fades rather briskly after being in a bottle for over a decade. thedrunkencyclist.com

October 10, 2017 - Light red in color. Pleasant earth, mushroom and cinnamon spice on the nose. Red fruit, cherries, balanced by fresh savory herbs and beef broth and mushroom notes. Unmistakenly Oregon. Probably at its zenith, but not too old. Screw cap bottle so no age related cork issues. Since it was past its reviewers drinking window I was concerned but certainly not the case with this bottle.

March 6, 2017 - Still has a lot of body but the flavors have really come together beautifully. Very earth, with notes of Red and even blue fruits, but not fruit driven. The organic earth is off the charts on this wine... Was perfect with Duck and Truffles

February 9, 2017 - A little chunky side-by-side with the '07 Shea Wine Cellars Shea Vyd also opened. I prefer the elegance of the Shea, G prefers the depth on this. Drink now.
