May 14, 2019 - Had with dinner in Napa with New York steak on BBQ. Decanted for 40 min. Perfectly balanced on nose and palate with firm lengthy tannins of crushed currents and black berries, black olives and blac tea

November 24, 2018 - Popped and poured. This is a solid red wine with some loose sediment throughout (more toward the end of the bottle) and significant mouth-staining capacity. On the nose, I get mint, chocolate, some slight heat, and plum sauce. In the mouth, this is smooth and lush, with a long, oak-influenced finish. Overall, this is a concentrated and powerful wine — it is a wine to drink with steaks or for “sipping” apart from food. My overall sensation is that this is a manufactured product, for better or for worse. Many will love it; few will hate it. It grasps for and aspires for nothing. Drink over the next 5 years. 90 points.

August 27, 2018 - Sophisticated but still big. Drinking beautifully.

June 17, 2018 - The wine looks purple colored. The legs are medium. There is moderate sediment in the bottle. It smells like strawberry, black currant (cassis) and red currant. It tastes like strawberry, blueberry, red currant, black currant (cassis), lead pencil and oak. The body is medium. The wine has silky texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has medium acidity.

June 2, 2018 - Massive. It reminded me of a big Shiraz like a well aged Grange. Blackberry tar cassis and a brilliant texture to go with a complex finish. It is drinking very well. This is why you hold Caymus.
