October 14, 2023 - First 100 point wine I've tasted/drunk this year, Grant Burge Meshach Shiraz 1995 (Barossa Valley). Deep cherry red colour, clear meniscus, vanilla and black cherry bouquet leading to an intense, sweet black fruit palate with black cherry, bilberry and rich damson flavours, soft rich tannins and stylish, gentle acidity followed by a rich, vanilla laden aftertaste with liquorice, oriental spice and leather. A fully mature, exquisitly balanced masterpiece.

June 12, 2022 - Fairly forward, even hot at first, but eases off with time; very nice nose, a bit cloudy, fruit still there, but definitely at its peak.

February 6, 2022 - P&P and drink over 2 days. did not evolve much. really beautiful mature Barossa syrah. Nose is dominated by blackcurrant, a touch of eucalyptus, leather, espresso. it is enticing, sweet and powerful. the palate is all about velvet. feel like a comfortable pillow, medium body +, sweet tanins, nice structure, long and keep a good freshness. goes on and on. the wine is in the zone now.

December 30, 2020 - Drinking well. Solid fruit, deep but not crazy deep and well rounded.

June 13, 2020 - Fine Wines SG - "Who makes the best Syrah wine?" (Zoom): Deep ruby, with browning fading edges. A rather deepish cassis and mint feel on the nose, as well as milky chocolate, and dark florals. Tannic, very intense ripe cassis, candied, dark florals. Quite punchy and upfront, and lots of alcohol heat which was balanced out with the intense fruits. Meats and coffee towards the back, and a moderate floral finish. Great!
