September 19, 2022 - A real nice showing, hard to believe it's 22 years old. Color still shimmering bright and the aromatics are generous with exotic yellow tropical fruit and just a hint of petrol. Nice mouth feel with a dry yet rich texture and balanced medium finish with good acidity to keep it all together. This has the stuffing to keep going further although i don't see much more upside in terms of flavor development. Consider me a fan.

February 6, 2021 - Tight seal on the cork, this bottle was less advanced than I expected. Some classic petrol, but interspersed nicely with white florals and lemon. Rich and fuller bodied but, given the vintage, not at all tropical or heavy. Ripe peach. Lovely bottle.

December 8, 2017 - Much more developed than the GV from the same address. Some depth to it, mature apples.

September 14, 2017 - Prager Dinner with Robert Bodenstein (Chicago, IL): To my palate, this was stewy and heat-damaged; interestingly, the 2000 Klaus also suffered the same fate.

August 11, 2014 - Unmistakably Riesling with that rich, unctuous Petrol character, with lots of peach and ripe apple. Very good now, should continue to drink well for another 5+ years.

December 18, 2012 - Light petrol on nose. Very dry, bordering on austere. Lemon and citrus themed flavors. Zingy acidity. Not an opulent wine, although I suspect the past 12 years have stripped some of the fruit. I'm not sure this wine has gotten better through aging- I admit I like the baby fat present in younger examples of Austrian Riesling

June 15, 2012 - Wonderful. Completely mature, open - really singing right now. I drank the rest too early... A-

May 17, 2012 - Absolutely lovely. Some secondary aromas in the mix, hints of petrol and orange peel and wax, but the wine is still youthful. It is actually very well put together, especially in the context of the very warm vintage. Not overripe, nothing tropical about it, and not warm or too fleshy. A wine whose ample body and lush fruit reflects the vintage's character, but a balanced and elegant wine. A great advertisement for Prager.

August 28, 2006 - Mostly Gevrey Dinner with Wyncroft (My home - Chicago IL): Aromas and flavors of apple, slightly lean with lots of minerality, a bit bone-shakingly dry and acidic. Give this a few more years.

August 28, 2006 - Liex-dts-cru Casual Gevrey 1ers with Wyncroft (Burgundy Al's): Bright yellow with a green tinge. Nice round aroma of mineral, fruit and acidity. Odd dusty fruit and tight acidity on the plate.
