Though it is very concentrated, it seems to me that it hides successfully a wider range of aroms.
I don´t see it superior to a LBV Port at the same price. -

April 12, 2011 - This recioto is a damn good, dark-flavoured full bodied sweet wine. Much more compexity than most american "ports" or dessert wines. IT's related to Amarone, but with incomplete fermentation, using corvina, rondinella, and molinara grapes. It's sweet, but not sickly as Californian dessert wines so often are. The grapes will help, as they'e been doing this for years. They don't even add fortitication to it, as you might expect with its taste. Went very well with home-made rhubarb ice-cream, meringues and cream, and shortbread.

August 11, 2010 - Very dark red color, pleasing to the eye. Smells of dark berries. Taste is a refreshing sweet tang at first with plum jam, raisin, raspberries.
