February 15, 2017 - This is starting to fade.
Some wet newspaper is showing on the nose and when just opened. Decanting for a few hours does help. Soft tannins and the mouth feel is quite dry. Some pepper on the end, so it's still kickin'! -

August 1, 2014 - Served with grilled hamburgers, shrimp, potato salad, etc. A full bodied wine; and very nice. Served this at a family gathering for our 48th anniversary (along with several other wines).

May 29, 2014 - Deep purple color, plenty of spices and fruit on the nose. Taste comes with a lot of pepper. Balanced wine, but nothing spectacular.

November 21, 2013 - Dark purple, nose had fruit and spice. A weekday wine with berries and some leather, coffee, and little tannin - a nicely balanced wine. Would buy again .
