August 29, 2018 - Initially, I thought this was nice and ready to go. Nice smoky, raspberry components in the nose with some herby, rosemary components too. Italian, leather, light cherry fruit with a bit of tannins and vibrant acidity. It seemed to fall apart a bit after some time, thinning and not really gaining over several hours. Pencil lead and sour Chukar cherry in the finish. I’d drink in the next year.

August 20, 2018 - Definitely a food wine, with the acidity able to cut through and/or complement whatever fats and protein you might pair with it.

October 1, 2017 - Slightly bretty and funky nose blew off after about an hour revealing that fresh, forest alpine nose of Boca. A darker morello cherry palate this vintage with light tobacco and balsamic tones. Long finish with bright tangy acidity checked by fine grained tannins. Do drink this at a slightly chilled temp as it does lose the brightness and freshness at warmer temps. Had the 2002 last year and it was lighter with more strawberry and raspberry flavors. Up next is 2006 next year. Really is a treat to try the same producer across multiple vintages. Well made wines built to age.

July 4, 2017 - I really enyoyed this wine. My wife felt not enough tannins but for me a lovely balanved wine I found a very easy drink either with food, we ate coronation chicken with it, or on its own.

January 16, 2017 - Benefited quite a bit from an hour in the decanter.
