September 21, 2018 - App: dark purple red
Aroma: dark fruit, noble wood, mushrooms, leather, licorice, spice and fully integrated oak.
Full-bodied with excellent acidity and discrete fine grained tannins. Concentrated, still fruity anddense wine. Impressive in the mouth.
Enormous length for a Barbera (94).

November 21, 2015 - Fantastic. Rich, powerful wine. Tannin still evident. This bottle felt like it could go another 5 years

January 3, 2015 - I am not a huge Barbera fan and this was an experiment with a higher end Barbera which proves a point for me. If you take good Barbera fruit and age in Oak for long enough time, then oak will smooth out rough edges typically found in a varietal. If there is one dominant flavor in the profile, it is the oak, but it works the wonder for the grapes and all together wine comes together as pretty good with flavorts of cedar, dried currants - no sweetness, sour cherry, vanilla and nutmeg.
    Bottle was slightly corked.

April 29, 2014 - Is this finally starting to come around? My last bottle though, poured through an aeration gizmo in some attempt to wake the wine up.

Seville oranges, roses, dust and cedar. Massively sour palate, but just about in balance. Leather and sour cherries. Dry, tannic finish. Rather good! Some will like this more than me too (89-90)
