November 12, 2019 - double decanted it, and it smelled like weedy crap. Also tasted like weedy crap. Drank half the bottle last night after 24 hours open on the kitchen counter, and it was fine, pleasant, light fruit, easy drinking. Finished the bottle tonight after it sat corked on the dining room table: terrific, lusher but elegant, great length. Needed 2 full days to finally open.

April 29, 2018 - Very good intensity to the dark fruit that maintains its lacy Volnay character, turning more savory and mineral with air. Tanniic structure relaxed, this drinks very well now.

But rather than blossoming it tightened up until eventually it was offering almost nothing at all besides the spine, actually a pretty good impersonation of the way the 1996 Burgundies tasted at their high point of being taciturn and closed.
