June 20, 2020 - Opened not decanted. Strong notes of oak and charcoal mixed with dark cherry fruit. Of course, on the last glass it all integrated into a smooth red and black cherry fruit experience. Has held up well. Good + (will decant next bottle).

March 24, 2014 - This is killer juice. I read other notes on this wine which said the wine is drinking young now and it really is even with a couple hours of decanting.
A terrific pinot for my palate.

January 3, 2014 - My last bottle. Whereas the Wild Yeast seemed the most approachable of the WO Reserve lineup at release, it's wildness gave me something to ponder over after a few years more in bottle. High acid, sweet-and-sour flavors make it a natural foil for rich dishes like risotto, duck, braised short ribs, or cassoulet.

December 11, 2013 - Fantastic Pinot - give it a couple hours of air and enjoy the expressive aromatics

February 9, 2013 - Tasted non blind at home. Decanted for 3 hours prior to first tasting and followed over several hours. Bottle needs to be stood up for a day or so before opening. Beautiful nose of spice, red fruit, some floral and intermittent hints of caramel. Just a slight hint of heat also but it is not intrusive. Very similar on the palate with tart cherries, lots of baking spices, maybe a hint of citrus and some floral. Consistent finish with lots of spice and tart cherries that persist for a full minute!
Little to no oak influence, nice acidity and medium-firm tannins. Drink now with plenty of air or ideally hold for a few more years before you start opening these.
