    April 24, 2018 - DRC on 24 April 2018 (Le Restaurant, Moscow): 93/100

Yellow plum, fat and oily, a bit excess sweetness, Domaine de Montille’s 1er Cru Le Cailleret 1998 is less deep and less multidimensional than absolutely fabulous vintage 1999 of the same.

Still, it’s a very good wine.

May 13, 2015 - Kelvin's Baby Shower (Burlamacco, Amoy Street, Singapore): An excellent Puligny 1er Cru. I had quite forgotten having had this before, but from my notes on a bottle we had a year and a half ago, this showed very consistently. It had a lovely nose - sweet peaches and nectarines, a little lemon peel, some vanilla and cream, and then a little lift of exotic nutmeg spice, smoke and a hint of earthy mineral; this was a very nice and complex bouquet. It was lovely on the palate as well. Fresh and pure, yet soft and melting, it caressed the mouth with mellow waves of honeyed apples and gentle orangey tones leading into a lightly spiced finish. Little pinpricks of chalk and mineral then peeked out at the edges as the wine took on some air. There was a nice warm depth here, but it was also beautifully balanced with well-integrated acidity. Very yummy - this was still fresh, juicy and lively, yet at the same time already perfectly resolved and drinking beautifully. Lovely.

November 30, 2013 - The Premox Taste Test - High Risk White Burgundies and More (Mood Indigo, Jalan Kilang Barat, Singapore): An excellent wine in its own right, though it did struggle somewhat under the shadow of the numerous Grand Crus that came before. I really enjoyed this though. It had a nice attractive nose, where ripen fleshy fruit - nectarines and more citrussy lemons I thought - were mixed-in with chalky, minerally aromas. There was a lovely feel on the palate too, very Puligny, with sweet apples with a few floral touches and some nutty almond inflections where tied to a little underlace of mineral at the finish. Great length here. A very delicious, giving wine, yet it was no floozy - there was clearly good terroir here, with a nice structure and shape to the whole proceedings. It was very nicely balanced too, with a nice freshness undergirding its fleshy notes and not a hint of premox in sight. I would never have guessed 1998 if blind. Very good indeed, and drinking perfectly now.

July 9, 2005 - $89.99 full retail. Lighter / more youthful color than I expected. Fairly tight on the nose. The palate shows quite a bit of polish and a gorgeous texture. Good balance. Light vanilla and a touch of spice; clean and bright, with flavors building right through the finish. This is clearly top level stuff on the palate - really impressive, though, admittedly, expensive. Will continue to evolve / live for years in the cellar. Can't wait to try the '99 and '02 !
