October 7, 2019 - I have somehow kept 6 bottles of this without a taste for close to 10 years. I find this simple and four-square with its big, round sweet-cherry and tobacco flavors, but it has no major flaws, nor has time noticeably marred it. It's reasonably well balanced, and without any alcoholic burn. I'd say this is a perfect barbecue wine if you don't want to break the bank but still wish to please. It's certainly not the driest wine around though.

October 25, 2015 - PnP. Nose of cherrry, red raspberry and vanilla. Palate of cherry, red & black berries, baking spice and a touch of oak with a medium finish.

February 12, 2013 - Great balance. Not overly exciting but it gets points for not having any over the top fruit.

October 2, 2012 - Brought to a "South of the equator" blind tasting, expecting little compared to others amongst the 24+ wines offered. Decanted for hours, re-bottled for tasting. VERY fruity, soft tannins, other participants were impressed, especially w/the $10 price.

October 1, 2012 - Consistent with prior results. Not bad, but there are better deals at this price point.

September 15, 2012 - No notes taken. As before, a respectable bottle, but would not purchase again as there are better Malbecs for less.

April 28, 2012 - Malbec Tasting: After being open for only an hour or so, this was my favourite Malbec of 8 tasted blind (though still only questionably crossing the 90-point threshold). It came across very fruity with beautiful fresh raspberries and cranberries, though lighter bodied and without much tannic structure. There was a particular pleasure to be had in drinking it that I really didn't get from the others. However, by the next night it had lost all of its freshness and a lot of its fruit and without that it was boring and no longer enjoyable.

March 5, 2012 - Consistent with prior notes. A simple one dimensional wine with red fruits and silkiness. Rather tasty but nothing special. At $20 not a bad deal.

March 4, 2012 - Better than I expected, as it was the one from the pack I had the least expectations for. Good balance, nice fruit, easy drinking. PnP. Still have half a bottle for tomorrow.
