September 24, 2023 - 50cl bottle. Dark and glistening, like a chestnut. Like a PX sherry diluted down to 12% by mixing in apricot juice - it wasn't as treacly, but it was still extremely sticky, with notes of thick-cut marmalade and baking spice. Tasty, and an excellent pair for salted caramel ice cream.

June 23, 2023 - Peranakan food at Linda’s Table (Linda’s Table Private Dining): Impression, raisin, fig but with good acidity bringing lift and freshness to the finish.

May 20, 2023 - Very dark, quite dense and oily. This went really well with the dessert, but it is very concentrated and in a great place now. This has years in it still in my view

December 26, 2020 - Took a day to open up.

Dried fruit (mango, banana, apricot), raisin, marmalade and brown sugar. Hint of caraway on the nose. Wonderful intensity and long finish. Slightly sherry like quality from the ageing.

Very nice, though enjoyed it a lot more by itself than with dessert.

April 28, 2018 - I dug this out for a Bacchus night alongside the Esszencia from the same vintage. This wine is much like the last time I tasted it at the end of last year. A dark, almost brown toffee colour, the nose and the palate offered up intense aromas of citrus fruit, principally fresh orange plus lime and orange zest too. It's sweet but not off the scale and with bright acidity to balance the wine. It's wonderful stuff..

December 27, 2017 - The colour of this wine is becoming darker, a little like toffee. The aromas and flavours are intense with orange, toffee, orange zest, lemon and lime zest. Wonderful.

January 22, 2017 - Viscous, powerful and very sweet, this had an attractive marmaledey bitterness. Delicious, and would stand up well to just about any fruit-based dessert (in this case poached quince).

October 15, 2016 - deep amber color. Fairly advanced profile with orange peel, fig and caramel. Attractive bitterness on the finish. Good acidity. Matched the ginger cake well

March 6, 2016 - Very good showing. Caramel, ginger, brine, nice tokaji bouquet. Palate quite fresh and long, not too sweet, good but not searing acidity. All in all, a lovely mature sticky.
