December 13, 2023 - Still finding her feet then. Lacks current lift and purity. (441/1752)

November 18, 2023 - Brilliant. Booming. Massive powerhouse of a Burgundy. Served at the end of a legendary blowout dinner and in another category of greatness. Lush, opulent, flashy, Vosne spice.

April 26, 2021 - At first this nose is a little dark and stormy, blacker berry, less showy, and more tightly wound than the ’91 Musigny served alongside. I think this began to open up relatively quickly and started to show exotic spice and a punchy and powerful array of black cherry, fern, and darker hoisin-like savoury sort of five-spice. I think that on its own this would have blown everyone away, and I think it is amazing – because it is – but alongside this Musigny it is comparatively a little brash and less refined, although still has that massively lush fruit. Shockingly youthful and intense. Big structured frame with intense fruit. A very strong example of Richebourg. Extremely special. 96 - 97. [1036/1752]

January 17, 2020 - Soap detergent aromatics. Again confirms these older wines nowhere near quality today. (469/1752)

February 17, 2019 - Dad's bottle. Bought near release. (Bottle # 00488). I poured a tiny bit into my Riedel Sommelier Burgundy glass just to prepare the glass and it immediately took over the whole bowl with Vosne perfume. Wow. Elegant nose - amazing spices, florals, cinnamon, five spice, nutmeg, that Leroy celery / celery salt. Gentle fruit. This has great balance and is soaring and light. Potent on the palate with huge flavor and intensity wrapped tightly in acid and structure: cherry and red berry along with the spices and celery. Wicked intensity with a cough drop (not in a bad way) aspect. Cherry and minerals take the wheel into the finish supported by the spice. Sleepy Dave's note on this is better than mine - it definitely has a bit of mushrooms/meatiness and tea leaves in places. This has at least 10 to peak and decades of life left. Stupendous. Nose - 6/6, Palate - 5.5+/6, Finish - 5+/6, Je ne Sais Quoi - 2/2 = 18.5/20.
